Dorinda Peterson and Amy Hines founded DnA Skills 4 Life, LLC, a Life Skills center specifically catering to individuals with cognitive disabilities. They strongly believed that people with disabilities were often disregarded and treated as if they were children who could not live independently, marry, or participate in the voting process. However, they believed that with appropriate support, individuals with disabilities could live independently, get married, and vote. With this principle in mind, they started Elite Squad,Inc which combines life skills with social connection events. They aimed to raise awareness about the importance of diversity and inclusion in empowering individuals with disabilities. Dorinda and Amy's mission is to change the perception of how others engage with people living with disabilities and encourage people to join their movement to create more opportunities for individuals with disabilities, especially for those living in marginalized communities.
